China is well advanced in Organic Agriculture since the mid dynasty. Early scholars like XU GUANGQI emphasised soil health and conservation of the environment. In fact he developed practices like compositing. Xichong County is taking lead in developing organic Agriculture as the pathway to rural revitalization. Necessary structures and institutions are already in place and Organic products can be found in supermarkets. We were delighted to have one of our founding Directors Prof. Charles Ssekyewa, visiting China, on from 6th to 14th September, to attend the Asia Organic Summit at Nanchong and Research symposium at the Organic Research Institute at Sichuan to witness this Organic Development.
